In a sea of over-the-top looks in the Haute Couture season, Giorgio Armani Privé veers more toward a safer direction; albeit one that is restrained in opulence yet gleams through a sophisticated plethora of regal and sculptural gowns.

Showcased at the gilded salons of the Italian Embassy in Paris, the Autumn/Winter 2018 collection is clearly a ‘Haute Couture 101’ session for the younger generation, as it exudes the true meaning of high fashion. Expert tailoring and dressmaking were infused in the craftsmanship of deconstructed jackets and overcoats, alongside flounces that peeked in unexpected places – at the waist, or even as sleeves.

Tulles were not spared too, as hundred meters of the ethereal fabric were spurned into cascading capes and cloaks.

Such glory is further reinforced by the abundance of luxe in tulip-styled velvet and cady gowns, as well as soaring satin pumps with crystal and pearl appliqué.

With 96 looks in total, along with contrasting elements, such as moccasins fashioned in sports version, shrouds of costume jewellery and ensembles adored with embroidery and feather, the collection definitely doesn’t fall short of expectation.

In fact, the outcome can be seen as delicate, and so very special, as it touts a sense of freedom and the spirit of independence.

Undeniably perfect and luxurious, we’d say.
